Multistate licensure is a system in which a single license allows a nurse to practice in more than one state. This model allows practice, whether physical or electronic, across state lines through the nurse being licensed in a state that has adopted the interstate model.

Multistate Licensure Privilege:
Authority to practice as a licensed nurse in a remote state under the current license issued by the individual’s home state, provided both states are party to the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) and the privilege is not otherwise restricted.
